BJ move to 2nd place following a 2-0 victory away to Calverton MW which could easily have been double figures. The BJ were without talisman and natural born goal-scorer Sam Buckle but that didn't cause any problems. Jamie Powdrill thought he had opened the scoring with a quality finish that Buckle himself would have been proud of but it was ruled out with the referee adjudging a handball to have taken place by Powdrill. Numerous chances to open the scoring came and went but Powdrill was to confirm his name on the scoresheet later on in the first half. Marc 'Lightning McQueen' Swietlinski somehow found himself deep in the Calverton half and turned the Miners Welfare Left Back inside out before a perfect cross was met by a perfect header by Powdrill who was giving a nearly perfect display. Burton Joyce had many a chance to double their lead with Daniel Harris hitting the woodwork and missing from close range headers on more than one occasion. The lead was eventually doubled in the second half by a Troy Smith goal which still seems to be inevitable when he pulls on the famous green shirt. BJ had a couple more chances to put the game beyond doubt but failed to take them. All in all it was a bright performance by the mighty BJ who have 7 from a possible 9 points in their first season in the NAA Premiership.
