I joined Burton Joyce Junior FC as a coach in May 2007 when I was kindly volunteered to help out with the then u6’s (my elder Son’s age group). As I was the only volunteer I was by default the squad manager.
I have previously coached in a number of other sports (mainly Skiing and Cricket) and have played football for club and University (my degree is in Sports Science). I passed my FA Level 1 Award in 2008 and will be taking my Level 2 in 2010.
As well as coaching I also represent the Mini-Soccer section on the Club Management Committee, administer the club website, and represent the club on the Poplars Sports Ground Management Committee and the Gedling Sports Forum.
My football allegiances are with Liverpool F.C., and fully support the Chairman in his attempts to ban players from wearing Man Utd kit during training sessions.
If a new football forum was launched for grassroots people to discuss/influence the future of football development in the UK, would you use it?
