Promotion to the Notts Amatuer Alliance Premier Division followed a successful 2008/09 season and whilst many doubted that a group of players largely aged 20 or under could make an impact on the division the confidence the Green Army held in their own ability told a different story. Their first game that season was an enthralling encounter which led to a six all draw with a late minute equaliser. The side quickly started winning games and ended up going unbeaten until the Headstocks became the first side to defeat them in over one year in the January. That impressive form which had been built up through mainly hard work, with probably a bit of luck thrown in along the way, saw the side reach the finals of both the NAA Senior League Cup and the Nottinghamshire FA Junior County Cup. The NAA Senior League Cup Final was a moment to particularly savour as the Greens stormed to a 5-0 victory over their rivals for the NAA Premier Division championship Santos. That fine victory was followed up with the side securing the league title in their debut season in the league and those successes didn't go unrecognised as the squad were awarded the honour of Gedling Sports Team of the Year 2010 with manager Darron Ward nominated for the Coach of the Year award.
